IB students plant garlic, rhubarb and strawberries for 2016 Sullivan Memorial Garden CSA

Several IB students working on their CAS (Community, Action, Service) learning outcomes came out to the Sullivan Memorial Garden after school to plant garlic for next year’s CSA.  The garlic heads were purchased from the Dexter Mill and will be harvested as green garlic, garlic scapes and head garlic for next year’s CSA members.  Additional garlic heads will also be given to the Dexter High School kitchen classroom and cafeteria.

Students also planted rhubarb and strawberries, mulched asparagus and added compost to the existing beds.
