Turnip the Beets and other delicious root veggies!

Before the snow arrived, flex students at Creekside harvested beets, carrots and turnips from the Sullivan Memorial Garden.  The fresh veggies were cleaned and processed in the kitchen classroom.  Students made some delicious snacks for flex class including:  carrot slaw with dried cranberries, roasted beet Greek salad, beet chips and roasted turnip bites with dijon.  “Can I have more, please?”  was the most popular feedback from both 5th and 6th grade students.
