Express Yourself!

FullSizeRender.jpgAs 2017 draws to a close, we are reflecting on the Farm to School work that was accomplished in the past year.  So far this year we have had record numbers of Creekside students in the Kitchen Garden Flex Class, sold over 400 lbs of garden produce to Dexter Food and Nutrition and have extended the growing season by using low tunnel hoops on several of our garden beds.  We have cooked brownies with pureed beets, washed over 90lbs of carrots in one after school garden club meeting, given Mrs. Dutcher’s bees many varieties of pollinators to make delicious honey from and served a delicious “from scratch” all Michigan-sourced holiday meal.

As a program we are so fortunate to have the support of teachers, parents, students and community members.  We would love to hear how the Farm to School program has made a positive impact on your student, classroom or community.  Please express yourself and tell us what you think by filling out this short survey.  We really value your input and would love to include your stories on our website or Facebook page.

We also are running short on supplies for our Creekside Kitchen Flex Class.  We have put together a list of items that we are in need of.  If you are able to contribute any of the supplies on our list, we would be very grateful.  Our program is allowed to use the space at Creekside through DSC, but any garden or classroom materials are all funded through special fundraisers or donations.

Thank you and Enjoy!
