Scratch is back! Dexter Food and Nutrition along with Dexter Farm to School are putting the “scratch” back into cooking by serving an all Michigan-sourced holiday meal prepared with local ingredients that promote scratch cooking.
On November 14th and 15th DCS cafeterias will be serving a delicious, homemade meal of herb-roasted turkey, homemade stuffing, roasted potato medley, whole-grain roll, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and apples. Some of our local farmers and suppliers include: Tantre Farm, Aunt Millie’s, Wing Farms, and True Blue Farms.
This meal is the first in a series of all Michigan-sourced meals by Dexter Food and Nutrition in partnership with Dexter Farm to School, 10 Cent Meal Grant, 5 Healthy Towns, and Cultivate Michigan. Other meals in the series include an all Michigan-sourced breakfast served in February and an all Michigan-sourced BBQ lunch that will be served in April.
Enjoy!
