Winter squash has arrived in our cafeterias- Yay!

We received 110 pounds of winter squash today for our February Harvest of the Month.  All of the squash was purchased from Tantre Farm in Chelsea and includes Jester, Carnival and Tetsukabuto varieties.

This will be the third consecutive year our Harvest of the Month has included a winter squash offering.  Every year we see more and more students who are willing to give winter squash a chance.

This year we are serving two different winter squash recipes.  Bates, Cornerstone, Wylie and Creekside will be served a roasted version with herbs and parmesan.  Mill Creek and DHS will be served a roasted squash and quinoa salad.  Please check February school menus for specific serving dates.
