This week and next, Dexter school cafeterias are featuring roasted root vegetables from two Michigan growers, as well as the Dexter-grown apples we’ve been getting in since September. Be sure to encourage students to try these veggies on the lunch line!
Dexter Food and Nutrition ordered beets, carrots, turnips, and parsnips grown on Victory Farms in Hudsonville, MI and red potatoes from Cedar Valley Packing in Grant, MI. Both came through Cherry Capital Foods.

Kids at Creekside said that the root veggies added nice fall colors to their plates! . . . And with grapes and apples on the salad bar, as well, the fruits and veggies were looking very seasonal!
