DHS Garden Workday a Success

The weather gods graced us with the best case scenario that April 19th in Michigan can offer.  Sunny skies and a slight breeze brought out lots of parents, students, and friends of the Sullivan Memorial Learning Garden to help plant spring crops, move the compost bins, and install a new entryway.  Multiple generations were represented, and they all worked together to bring new life to the garden.

Students from Mr. Kimmey’s IB Biology classes came to the workday to contribute their project designs and help with spring revitalization.  For most of these students, it was their first introduction to the garden.  Many did not know the garden existed last year or the year before!  We hope that events like these will increase the visibility of the garden within the school culture.
